What is a full-time job
Essence of the question
Full-time work means work for the entire time that is regulated in an individual labor contract or a collective agreement concluded with the employer. It is the most popular form of employment for the able-bodied population, since statistically people with a full form of employment receive much more than if they were employed by other forms (part-time, flexible schedule, part-time work, etc.).
Letter of the law
According to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, the duration of the working week is 40 hours. Traditionally, it is divided into 5 days for 8 hours each, but this practice is far from everywhere. Every day, there is a time for lunch, which is at least 1 hour (and possibly more, but this depends on the geographic zone in which the enterprise is located and what working conditions it has). A full-time job can be 10 and 12 hours, then the number of such days will be reduced. Otherwise, the employer is obliged, under the same code, to establish an extra charge for overtime.
If the employee is not paid extra for overtime, then he can complain about this to his employer. If the employee is not heard by his management, then he must apply to the Labor Inspectorate, which is obliged to monitor all cases of violation of labor laws. A check will be carried out, after which the labor inspector will issue an order to the management of the organization to liquidate all violations within the agreed time. If the violations continue, the inspection in the right to put forward large penal sanctions to the leadership.
Although this is the most common form of employment not only in Russia but also in the world, a person looking for work should understand that it requires compliance with the discipline and work schedule adopted by the organization where it is arranged. If a person is not ready to work 8 hours a day (or even more) with 1 hour for lunch, then he must look for work in another enterprise or try to coordinate with the employer other conditions of his working day.
The labor legislation of the Russian Federation is quite strict about compliance with the norm in 40 working hours a week, however how these hours will be distributed within a week is a matter of personnel policy of the enterprise. Therefore, the person searching for a job has a real chance to get into an organization that is able to provide him with a convenient work schedule.
