How to be a firefighter
The profession of a firefighter-rescuer is designed to save people and their property in a crisis situation. People who work in this service, while on duty, are always on alert. According to the job description, the time to collect a firefighter for a call is 60 seconds. At the first call the fire brigade immediately leaves. It is impossible to tarry in extinguishing the fiery element.
Arriving at the site, the fire department leader immediately assesses the situation. Each member of the team acts on the orders of the chief. Not properly evaluated situation and wrong actions of rescuers threaten the life and health of a large number of people and the life and health of the firefighters themselves.
Each employee has his own assigned function in extinguishing a fire. Someone unwinds the fire hoses, someone takes people out of the burning building. Among the team there must be a specialist - an electrician. In a burning building, you must immediately disconnect the electrical power.
Being on watch at a time when there is no call, firefighters are engaged in servicing equipment for firefighting, as well as equipment. Much attention is paid to maintaining a good physical form of each employee. For this purpose in many fire departments there are sports halls and sports stock.
The fire department is equipped with modern communication facilities and a command of dispatchers that accept the call.
Each member of the fire brigade is given protective clothing for fire fighting and a special set of equipment that may be required in an emergency situation.
Increased requirements are imposed on the health of firefighters. They constantly undergo a medical commission, are checked for good physical fitness and degree of endurance. The life of all members of the team is insured, and they are all vaccinated at the expense of the state. Also, special attention is paid to the character of the firefighter, the ability to react clearly and correctly in extreme situations, the ability to make important decisions, analyze and take responsibility.
Every firefighter takes courses in providing first aid to people affected by fire.
