How to efficiently plan tasks for the department
Think about the technological process that is entrusted to your department, break it into several elementary components, subtasks. Decide on the performers of each, taking into account factors such as the experience and qualifications of each employee, the nature of the character, and the importance and priority of each subtask. Consider the sequence of execution, the graph and those points on it, in which the results should be analyzed and monitored. Try to take into account all the factors that can affect the quality and timing of the work and minimize their impact. Think over the backup options, including the issues of interchangeability.
Distribute responsibilities. Try not to pull on the blanket and give your subordinates the opportunity to prove themselves. Do not forget that the main task of the manager is administrative activity. Describe the authority and responsibility of each employee, determine for each the set of authorities that he will have as part of the performance of a specific production task.
Limit the right of independent decision-making only to those employees whose qualifications and experience you can definitely rely on. In any case, the right to make a final decision, always leave for yourself. Ensure internal interaction between all the working groups in the department, appoint responsible managers in each group. Who can solve all the issues among themselves. Agree that in case of misunderstandings and conflicts, you should be notified. Support in the team of your department the balance between cooperation and rivalry. This is an excellent mobilizing factor.
Carry out analysis and control of the results obtained with regularity and frequency established. Take full advantage of the managerial toolkit, which allows you to increase the responsibility and performance discipline of subordinates. Motivate them and be fair in the allocation of both penalties and material incentives.
