How to competently make a resume and portfolio
First of all, you need to decide on the difference between the two types of your presentation materials. So, a resume is a fairly short list of your work and educational activities: a description of experience, education, personal qualities. Portfolio is your broader personal characteristic, where not only your experience and education are registered, but also all talents, achievements, and concrete merits. Also in the portfolio should be spelled out and motivation to work, which is also an important point.
In order to correctly compile a resume and portfolio, it is necessary to clearly write down your work experience in chronological order. At the same time, for a successful resume and portfolio it will be a plus if you add, besides dry dates and company names, your personal merits and a brief description of your responsibilities in the organization (1-2 sentences).
Next, when writing a resume and portfolio, you must specify your education. Do not be afraid to indicate all additional courses and internships. This will significantly increase your chances of getting a job. Also, when describing higher education, you can specify the topic of your thesis, especially if it has a similar direction to your future work.
Also in the resume, you can specify other parameters such as additional competencies and skills, your personal qualities, contacts. A detailed resume often increases the authority and chances of a candidate. But do not overdo it, because in some companies, for example, in international ones, detailed resumes are not accepted. This means that such a resume can simply alienate the employer or even leave it unattended.
For a portfolio, the moment of a detailed description of your motivation is important, that is, why it is so important for you to get exactly this workplace or why you should get a grant, or the opportunity to participate in an event. Here it is important to speak in the words of the employer, the grantor. In this case, you should also try to describe as fully as possible the benefits of your participation in the project or in this event.
