How to write a resume competently
A well-written resume greatly increases the chances of getting a job. Even with insufficient work experience, the resume can be drawn up so that the employer will believe in your desire to work in his company.
To view the resume a person spends one or two minutes. Therefore, approach responsibly to its design. It is better if the text fits on one sheet of A4 paper, but do not reduce the font in attempts to do the impossible. Write the traditional Times New Roman font on the 12th or 14th size.
Structure the information on blocks, using for headings the bold font of the larger size. Do not write complex long phrases and use lists. This will make it easier to read your resume.
What to write on resume
In the upper corner, place the block with contact information: the phone and email address will be enough. It would be nice to insert your photo of a small size. The photo should be moderately official and of good quality. It is best to be photographed by the shoulders.
Next in the middle of the sheet in bold type, write your name, first name and patronymic.
The main text is better to start with a brief information about yourself: the date of birth, marital status, the presence of children, it is appropriate to specify the nationality.
After that, the formation is indicated. The later it is received, the higher it is. Do not need to specify all the places where you studied, if they are not useful in this company. For example, an art school will be superfluous when you set up an office manager, and for a designer it will be an additional plus. If this is your first job, you can specify the theme of the thesis after the name of the university.
Work experience is also written in reverse chronological order. You can specify the positions that you occupied, and the duties performed in brackets.
In the skills list: with what programs you know how to work, the level of computer skills, knowledge of foreign languages and other qualities that are necessary for the desired position.
You can include a unit with personal qualities. For example, accuracy, punctuality, responsibility. Write about your bad habits. Hobbies will help to better understand what kind of person is applying for a position.
What you should not write about
Do not write your physical parameters, height, weight, if you are not looking for work as a model.
Information about the home address is also better to be kept quiet. However, indicate your city if the job is in another.
If you do not ask, do not specify the size of the desired salary and the reasons for which you quit your previous job.
