How to find a manager
Identify the key qualities of the manager. What is the "ideal manager" in your understanding? The longer and more specific the list becomes, the easier it will be to sift potential employees through it. Write everything that is important for successful work, up to the character of the candidate and the color of his shoes.
Assign a day for the interview. Although the initial selection of candidates is carried out on the basis of a resume, it is possible to miss really good employees. This is due to the fact that the summary is often of a formal nature. Often, candidates without experience or without proper education turn out to be excellent managers, literally in a month or two of work. Sometimes it's better to hire such a promising employee than someone who fits all formal parameters, but in fact it is weak, and it must be changed in the same month or two. Therefore, there is another approach to selection and interview. A group of managers is invited at the same time. Then the interviewer interviews them with questions that may appear in real work. Their task is to offer a solution or a way out of the situation. It remains only to observe who behaves like himself. You can come up with other tests, depending on the required key competencies.
Select the top 10 potential candidates. Mark among all those present those candidates who liked you the most. If you can not go to step 2 in one go because of the large number of people, you can repeat it the required number of times. As a result, excess will be eliminated, the most promising ones will remain.
Conduct an interview. Now you can talk with the selected people separately.
