How to build a customer base
Develop a technical basis for creating a customer base. This can be either a regular Excel file or a multi-level program created for your personal needs. The main thing is that you can store and analyze all the necessary data about customers: name, contact information, history of purchases or services rendered, the nuances of service. For convenience, store the database in printed form in specially structured folders.
Make it so that the client himself wants to share information for your database. The most common way is to fill out a questionnaire in exchange for discount cards. This method will allow you to record the amount spent by the visitor, as well as the frequency of visits to your company. The process of filling out the questionnaire should not take away from the visitor more than 1-2 minutes, so as not to make him wait and nervous. Do not require too much personal information: just the name, city of residence and the way of feedback is enough.
Use existing customers to attract new ones. The conditions must actually be stimulating. For example, for each friend listed, your customer base representative gets a large one-time discount on the next order or purchase.
Access to the client base of competitors or similar companies is a great way to lure buyers to your side. If it is not about secret materials or illegal methods of obtaining such data, this method is fully justified. For example, you worked in a women's clothing store, and now you are going to open a beauty salon. If you can keep access to customer contact information, feel free to use it. So you will not cause damage to the previous business and get a chance to gain new customers. Try also to exchange bases with partners, if your goals do not overlap. For example, if you are organizing children's parties, you can mutually share customer contact information with the management of the early development center.
