How to refuse to hire
The most common form of failure is silent. As it becomes clear that this particular candidate is eliminated, they simply cease to get in touch with him. If he initiates the contact himself, it is politely explained that, unfortunately for him, the other candidate turned out to be more suitable.
As a refusal can often be interpreted and the phrase "we will call you" instead of going to the procedure of formalizing relations after the final stage of selection.
Less common is the option of refusal, when all applicants who have not passed the selection, or those who dropped out in the final stages (this is more common, because the total number of all those who respond to a vacancy is too large) is sent (but not in the order of spam: to everyone personally ) the message that the preference is given to another.
This is usually a standard form: the candidate is thanked for the attention to the company, is sadly informed that the choice is not in his favor, and they wish success.
The phrase that the addressee’s nomination may be considered by the company in the future may be used in this “refusal letter”. Everyone understands that it does not commit to anything and basically does not mean anything, it is not more than a tribute to politeness.
However, it may be otherwise. Even when the choice is made, there is no certainty that the selected applicant will take root in the company. In this case, everyone who is professionally engaged in the recruitment of personnel, keeps on hand a reserve of other applicants. And the phrase may mean that the eliminated candidate is included there.
But even this does not guarantee anything.
So the question, whether to use this method to sweeten the pill or not, is at the discretion of everyone.
