How to decide to leave work
Analyze your present position in the workplace. For convenience, you can write down in two columns all the pros and cons. What do you not like most? Which of the shortcomings can not be reconciled? Ask yourself different questions and look for answers. Try to understand what keeps you from the change of the company that you will lose in case of dismissal. Calm reasoning and the findings — the first step to change the situation.
The analysis of the labor market in your direction. If you have the opportunity, send resume in other firms and visit some interviews. To go nowhere much more difficult, so it is a good idea to prepare the soil. Do not hurry: the job market is quite dynamic. Give yourself 2-3 months to keep track of new offers.
Try to think about the future. Rate the prospects that await you in the company. Imagine that after 10-15 years of work at the same place you look back. What you are experiencing is regret about the past or the satisfaction of career achievements? Try to imagine what will happen if you do decide on this important step and choose a different line of work.
Discuss your thoughts about a job change with loved ones, colleagues and even superiors. Present their doubts and problems to those who see the situation from the inside. Adequate guidance will necessarily respond to your condition, especially if you represent a real value for the firm. Quite possibly you will have new thoughts, or determination to leave will become more apparent.
Drop all secondary and emotional aspects that keep you at the current workplace. For example, you are very satisfied with the office location or you like soulful relationships with colleagues, so you are willing to put up with the real perks of the job. You need to understand that these advantages should not affect your decision, because, quite possibly, in the new place you will be much better psychologically.
