How to make content analysis
Content analysis - one of the most productive and inexpensive methods. It is used in politics, the media, science, medicine, and psychology. Thanks to it, informative results are obtained, which are inherent in objectivity.Content analysis this is a kind of study of various materials to determine their own conclusion. This will be a conclusion about the content of any publication, or its statistics. The purposes of analysis are two types - quantitative or qualitative content analysis. Quantitative analysis will be the calculation of any data on publication, the collection of statistics (the number of words, tables, phrases and other text parameters). Qualitative analysis will be the calculation of any data, facts that are important for the researcher and his work.
Any content analysis consists of 3 stages: -determination of the object of analysis; -calculation of references to the object of the study, identification of interdependencies and connections; -interpretation and evaluation of the data obtained, identification of the prospects for research or the object under study.
Content analysis is aimed at studying the obvious materials and on revealing the actual meaning in the text. In addition to the usual calculations, complex statistical techniques (for example, correlation) are actively used.
Investigating a specific problem for analysis, you should choose the work not only of a specific author. It is necessary to find other sources on the topic and also conduct their analysis and apply a comparative method of research. It should also be taken into account that the analysis is based on the judgment of a particular researcher, therefore, it is not always possible to speak about the objectivity of the study. The more researchers conducting an analysis of one source, the greater the likelihood of obtaining a high level of objectivity study. This is due to the fact that in the end more people come to a consensus.
