How to make a technical task
Writing technical specifications must be preceded by a meeting of the customer and the developer where the customer with the maximum level of detail should state your requirements for the final product and give it a description. After that, the developer with the necessary technical skills, should give a gradual description of the upcoming work and to formulate the tasks that need to be addressed in the course of the project. At this stage, the customer also should be attended to, if necessary, to make corrections and adjustments. The closer to interact with the customer and the provider, the higher the degree of mutual understanding and the less contentious issues or wasted time.
Structure of the specification in each case may vary, especially for the development of this document in various technical fields. But in General, it should be a short description of the created product, its functionality, given the used concepts and terms described in detail all the functional modules and their characteristics. General recommendations on the content of technical specifications are set out in GOST 19.201-78 "Technical task. Requirements for content and design".
One of the mandatory section is "General". It must specify the full name of the parties participating in the development of this technical project, give information on the cost of the project, its deadlines and, if necessary, deadlines for each stage. As a rule, most of the technical tasks included a section on the reliability of the generated product with a description of the conditions that ensure specified reliability and methods of its control.
Try to keep the description of each task listed in the terms of reference, was divided, do not use abstract phrases, and vague claims. For example, such a requirement as "must be able to work" hard enough to carry someone, it will be convenient, and some do not, the result will be a disagreement.
