How to become a good leader
If you want to be a good leader, you must have real professionals in your team who are responsible for the positions they occupy. Pay special attention to recruitment. In the course of work, situations will inevitably arise that require advanced training of workers; you must create conditions for solving such problems. Also try to motivate employees on their own, to improve the quality of their work. Do not give up constructive criticism of them, for many people it is a good motivator for improving their own performance. At the same time, do not limit yourself only to criticism, encourage your employees if they achieve high results.
A good leader must understand that under his leadership ordinary people work who are prone to make mistakes. Give them the right to make mistakes, while creating conditions so that they strive to improve their work and try not to make such mistakes in the future. This will require you to learn to trust your employees and delegate some responsibilities to them. People should feel a certain independence from you. The feelings of workers of constant pressure from the authorities and the fear of being wrong are one of the main signs of bad leadership.
Try to keep under control the current activities of the team, especially if they are working on an important project. Hold regular meetings, discuss the details of the project, identify existing problems and look for ways to solve them. It is also important to be able to choose the right time for such discussions. Make sure that employees are fully immersed in work and are not tired. Such meetings may be best held at the beginning or in the middle of the week. Carefully plan such events, do not conduct them in the form of a monologue, let's speak to all participants and take their opinions into account when making important decisions.
Be sociable with your employees, try not to limit the “manager-slave” relationship to a rigid official framework. People are always interested in who their leader is as a person. Feeling trust and respect on your part, they will see you as a person. Be available for simple communication, do not hide behind your position, exclude rigid subordination in communication with employees, but at the same time watch executive performance in a team. People will love you as a leader, they will reach for you in a natural way.
