How to become a radio host
Almost every city has its own radio stations, and you can try your hand at one of them. But before devoting oneself to a new profession, one should remember that a successful career of a radio host requires certain inclinations and skills. After all, in order to become a radio presenter, you need to have a pleasant timbre of voice and a clear, competent, well-delivered speech. Some people have such abilities by nature, and some develop their speech, improve their diction and put their voices through special exercises. But a pleasant voice and competent speech are not yet a guarantee of success on the radio.
First of all, the radio host must be an educated and interesting person, only in this case he will be able to quickly and clearly formulate his thoughts and “hold” the audience. Well and, of course, you can not do without the ability to find a way out of the most difficult situations. To become a radio host, you must have a high reaction rate. But the knowledge of studio equipment is a desirable, but not mandatory skill - you can always learn how to work with the equipment directly “in the process”.
So, if you fully possess all the above qualities, take a step towards your dream. To do this, determine which particular radio station you want to work on and analyze the work style of its presenters. It is necessary to develop a style of communication that will correspond to the format of the radio station. After that, you need to record your own voice - for example, create a short greeting and announce a few songs of your choice. This record, along with your own resume, must be attributed either directly to the radio station office or sent by e-mail with an e-mail marked “for the personnel department” or “for the program director” as an e-mail. If you are invited to audition, try first of all to demonstrate your benevolence, sense of humor and ability to easily get out of difficult situations.
