How to quit if you are on vacation
Under Russian labor law, you have the right to resign at will at any time, most importantly - to notify your employer about it for two weeks (14 calendar days). It does not matter whether you work these two weeks, or rest - this is the time given to the employer to find you a replacement. And this can be done also in the event that the departing employee has a rest on a resort for thousand kilometers from a workplace.
Therefore, if you made a decision to leave when on vacation - you can write a statement "on your own" two weeks before the end, and specify the last day of your vacation as a firing date (leave before the vacation ends, you do not have rights). In that case, it is not right for you to get your boss to "work out" - you simply have to be dismissed in two weeks.
If you do not want to appear on the job during your vacation, you can send a letter of resignation by mail. To do this, you need to send it by registered mail - with a list of attachments and a notification of receipt of the letter. In this case, the countdown of the two-week period starts from the moment of receipt of the letter by your employer.
In case you have less than two weeks left before the end of your vacation period, you can not claim dismissal on the day of vacation, and your superiors may require "working off" the remaining days.
