How to choose a profession with a test
As a rule, tests for vocational guidance are very different - from small, containing 20-30 questions and capable of revealing only a greater or lesser gravitation to very conditionally delineated areas of activity, to detailed questionnaires, the filling of which can take several hours. With the help of such questionnaires, the most diverse aspects of the individual are examined: interests, stress resistance, and attention to detail.
There are tests for vocational guidance, which after their passage recommend the respondent work on specific professions. Hardly they should be considered reliable. Such tests can simultaneously give out that the respondent should become a florist, kindergarten teacher, biochemist, etc.
The best option is tests that "prompt" only the sphere in which it is worth working. For example - management (management), analytics, administrative work. Of course, the respondent will choose a profession on his own, but at least he will know what he has more or less inclination towards administrative or analytical work, for example.
Complex psychological tests will make it possible to learn more not only about the most suitable sphere of application of forces, but also about the presence of important qualities for a particular profession. If the result of such a test shows a low level of attention to detail, then the respondent should not engage in administrative work (go to logistics certainly not worth it).
Tests for vocational guidance, as a rule, are intended for adults and adolescents from the age of 14. In adolescence, priorities often change, personality is formed, so it makes sense to take a test for career guidance every year from 9th to 11th grade - this will allow you to change the direction of profile education at the school level in time (for example, to move from a humanitarian class to a mathematical one).
Correctly "decipher" the results of the test for professional guidance will help professional consultants. They will not only explain what this indicator means, but also tell about the essence of the profession. This is very suitable for a teenager - it is unlikely that a person at the age of 14-16 years represents what a lawyer or quality consultant does. With professional consultants, you can talk in some recruitment agencies or at the Center for Testing and Development at Moscow State University "Humanitarian Technologies."
We have prepared a test for you that is designed to determine the degree of your willingness to choose a profession or, in other words, willingness to choose your own professional future independently. It consists of a number of components.
Any profession, depending on what the worker is dealing with, can be attributed to one of 5 types (according to EA Klimov): technology, sign system, man, artistic image, nature. The test below will help you choose the type that suits you best. Comments on the test will prompt what profession it includes, and what qualities are required from the person who wants to receive them.
