How to choose a profession with the help of the test
As a rule, tests for vocational guidance are very different - from small, containing 20-30 questions and capable of revealing only more or less intensely defined areas of activity, to detailed questionnaires, which may take several hours to complete. With the help of such questionnaires, various aspects of personality are investigated - interests, resistance to stress, attentiveness to details.
There are career counseling tests that, after passing them, recommend to the respondent work in specific professions. It is unlikely that they should be considered reliable. Such tests may also indicate that the respondent should become a florist, a kindergarten teacher, a biochemist, etc.
The best option - tests that "suggest" only the area in which to work. For example - management (management), analytics, administrative work. The respondent naturally chooses his own profession, but at least he will know to which he has a greater or lesser tendency - to administrative or analytical work, for example.
Complex psychological tests will allow to learn more not only about the most appropriate field of application of forces, but also about the presence of important qualities for a particular profession. If the result of such a test shows a low level of attention to detail, then the respondent should not engage in administrative work (it is certainly not worth going to the logistics).
Career guidance tests are usually intended for adults and teenagers from the age of 14. In adolescence, priorities often change, a personality is formed, so it makes sense to take a career counseling test every year from grade 9 to grade 11 - this will allow you to change the direction of core education at least at the school level (for example, to switch from a humanitarian to a mathematical class).
Correctly "decipher" the results of the test for vocational guidance will help professional consultants. They will not only explain what a particular indicator means, but also tell about the essence of the professions. This is very suitable for a teenager - it is unlikely that a person at the age of 14-16 years old represents what a lawyer or a quality consultant does. You can talk with professional consultants at some recruitment agencies or at the Testing and Development Center at Moscow State University “Humanitarian Technologies”.
We have prepared for you a test that was created to determine the degree of your readiness to choose a profession or, in other words, a readiness to independently choose your professional future. It consists of a number of components.
Any profession, depending on what the employee deals with, can be attributed to one of 5 types (according to E. A. Klimov): technique, sign system, person, artistic image, nature. The following test will help you choose the most suitable type for you. Comments to the test will tell you what profession it includes, as well as what qualities are required from the person who wants to receive them.
