Tip 1: How to become an actress
First of all, to become an actress, you need to get the appropriate education. The point here is not only and not so much in the diploma, as in obtaining the most important professional skills. Among them - the possession of acting skills, technique of speech, plastic; the ability to behave naturally on the stage and to freely stand in front of the camera. Theater universities and colleges are in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk. Those who live in other cities should take an interest in local educational institutions: sometimes acting faculties are created in conservatories (for example, in Voronezh), as well as in other educational institutions in the sphere of culture and art.
However, it must be remembered: it is always difficult to enter the acting department, and for girls it is doubly difficult to do. The problem is that, despite the fact that women actresses dominate in many theaters (and, perhaps, that is why), they try to take 2 times more girls on the acting course of the young men. The point here is not at all in discrimination, just in the Russian theater, as in theatrical education, there has long been a tradition of forming a troupe based on the composition of the characters of Griboedov's Grieving in His Own. Moreover, in the world theatrical repertoire there are much more male roles than female ones.
In order to prepare as best as possible for the inevitable fierce competition, it is best to enroll in an amateur theater group, even if it is a group or a studio, while still in school. The ideal option would be to study at the theater department of the school of art. In addition, it is necessary to acquire additional skills: vocals, choreography, and possibly sports training. Sometimes the actress requires the most unexpected skills, for example, knowledge of foreign languages, horse riding or car driving.
You should also seriously approach the choice of material for the entrance exams. Here it is necessary to prepare the classical triad: a prose passage, a poem and a fable, you may also need to perform a song or dance. In addition to acting tests will have to endure a colloquium - an interview on the history of theater and drama. References to prepare for it are usually published in a booklet or methodological recommendations for applicants. It is advisable to still read the most famous plays and books about the theater, so as not to look ignorant.
If you could not do the first time, you need to maintain confidence and optimism. In the end, you can prepare yourself more seriously and try again the following year. However, it should not be forgotten that usually theatrical institutions of higher learning accept girls not older than 21 years. If you did not succeed in enrolling in the desired educational institution, and life without a scene seems unthinkable, there are several options for further action.
First you need to ask whether there is a set in an actor’s studio at one of the theaters of his native city. Such options are not so rare. Then you can try to go there. In addition, if the theater is interested in promising young performers, he himself will send them to part-time education at a theater school. If you still cannot get an acting profession, you can think about your other talents that may be useful in the theater, and try to learn to be a director (although it is even more difficult), an artist, a producer, a theater critic or a film critic. If none of these options seem acceptable, it is probably worth getting a profession in another field of activity, further combining it with classes in an amateur theater.
It should always be remembered that even if it was possible to enroll and successfully complete the acting faculty, the profession gained implies the subsequent hard struggle for the possibility of creative self-realization: endless casting visits, occasional roles, tireless work on yourself. Only by becoming a "star" of the scene or screen, the actress will be able to choose the most interesting of the many proposals. But this can be achieved only by long, hard work.
Many girls cherish the dream of becoming an actress, but refuse to translate this idea into reality, believing that this is simply impossible.
There is an opinion that the profession of an actress requires from a woman not only remarkable talent and appropriate education, but also iron health, endurance, dedication, the ability not to give up even in the most critical situations. But if you are sure that the profession of an actress is your vocation - try your hand at the stage. Of course, the best option would be to enroll in the appropriate university or college. There you can master the basics of the profession under the guidance of experienced teachers and understand how this type of activity suits you. But there are also situations in which admission to an acting school or theater university is not possible. What to do in this case? Do not despair, there is always the opportunity to try their hand at one of the many castings, which are often held in large cities. Usually casting is done by experienced specialists who can distinguish mediocrity from a truly talented person with a trained eye, who in the future has the prospect of becoming a sought-after actor. The main thing is to tune in advance to a positive perception of the situation and try to identify for yourself those strengths of your talent that you want to demonstrate during the casting. Try not to be afraid, not to be shy and not to compare yourself mentally with other applicants - it is always easier to become an actress to the girl who is confident in herself and constructively perceives any criticism. Going to the casting, do not overdo it with make-up and outfit - you should look as natural as possible, since commission members will first of all need to evaluate your natural data. And excessive artificialness and artificiality can only spoil your image. Well and, of course, try to have a good night’s sleep in order to come to the casting with a good mood and in good spirits.
